Dancing Blonde is now Driving..........

Well it has certainly been a long time since an entry has been made. What can I say! Here are my excuses:

1. Work keeps interfering in my personal life.
2. A gremlin got into my computer and disconnected my blogging ability.
3. The other blondes are to blame.
4. Work keeps interfering in my personal life.
5. Business is really really good right now.
6. 2 of us blondes were sick and struggling to get back to normal.
7. Another blonde visited and we were wayyyyyyyyyy too busy having fun.
8. Work keeps interfering in my personal life.
9. It started to rain and I had an excuse for my not blogging. (ok very thin)
10. I had to go to the hairdresser to make sure I stay blonde.

So now that is out of the way, please forgive me………… If not, well too bad…………

Lots going on here: First we are into the holiday season and that means you can go dancing 7 nights a week and have tons of fun! Too bad we have been under the weather and working too much to really enjoy it. BUT that is about to change.

I was involved in a complex and large installation here on the north coast that I will tell you all about when I can. For now I am sworn to secrecy and if I tell you I will have to kill you. Of course I will kill you in a long and painful but entertaining manner. Well entertaining for me anyway.

New favourite website:

http://www.newsforblondes.com

It is silly and so appropriate to this blog.

Driving: oh my goodness. Can I just tell you how bad our streets are here in Puerto Plata??? A little history - months ago (seems like years) they decided to renovate the main road around Puerto Plata. Work progressed - stopped - progressed - stopped....... you see a pattern here? They seem to work on an area, finish, go somewhere else, then come back and tear up the original part again........ I have no idea what they are actually doing.

Well the government ran short of funds and work stopped for quite a while. Then they found money - YEAH. Work is progressing at a feverish pace now as it is rumoured the new deadline is Dec 31st! Well what a mess!!!!! I live in a nice neighbourhood that gains entry from the work site. One particular night I was returning home from a date ( yes a date woooo hoooo) and I could not get access from either end of the street to my neighbourhood. It is a good thing I know the ways through the back and up and around and over to get to my apartment. Man what a hassle. Any given moment it is an obstacle course to try and get home again.

The other day the round about (very technical term!) was all torn up and traffic was diverted throught the baseball stadium parking lot. Well the road goes down in like a V and then back up again (badly constructed water route thing). A large Caribe Bus got stuck! His back bumper was on the top part of the V, the front wheels on the ground and everything else was in the air! There was a large tow truck and at least 50 Dominican men giving advice to the poor driver on how to "hook up" this bus! The poor man could not get his cable under the back bumper.

I WISH I HAD A CAMERA RIGHT THEN!

The rains arrived yesterday and now the roads are an even bigger mess. Not only is it torn up but now the rain cleverly disguises all the potholes. My car got swallowed by one this morning! My poor baby.

Christmas in this country is an amazing time. It is a time of family, community and celebration! I will make the effort to write about the holiday season and tell you all our stories.

Thanks for reading. Thanks for being patient with us while we get caught up. Thanks for your comments.
